Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Pilot IQ platform at getpilotiq.ai operated by Pilot IQ (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

Pilot IQ is an AI-powered pilot training platform that helps student pilots, certified flight instructors (CFIs), designated pilot examiners (DPEs), and flight schools track training progress, log flights, receive AI-generated flight debriefs, and assess checkride readiness.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Pilot IQ. By using our platform, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are creating an account for use by a student under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@getpilotiq.ai if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Important Disclaimers — Not a Substitute for Flight Instruction

You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI analysis does not constitute flight instruction under 14 CFR Part 61.
• Checkride readiness scores are estimates based on logged data and should not be your sole basis for scheduling a practical test.
• Personal weather minimums calculated by our system are suggestions — always use your own judgment and consult your CFI.
• Approach analysis and safety flags are best-effort automated assessments and may not identify all deviations or hazards.
• You remain solely responsible for all decisions regarding flight safety, training progress, and checkride scheduling.

5. Instructor & DPE Responsibilities

If you use Pilot IQ as a CFI or DPE, you are responsible for the accuracy of debriefs you submit through the platform. You acknowledge that AI analysis supplements, but does not replace, your professional evaluation. You agree to maintain appropriate instructor-student boundaries and comply with all applicable FAA regulations in your use of the platform.

6. Flight Data Accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of flight data you enter into Pilot IQ. Our platform is not an official logbook under 14 CFR 61.51. While we strive to provide accurate calculations and analysis, you should verify all data independently before relying on it for regulatory compliance, insurance, or employment purposes.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Submit false or misleading flight data
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our AI prompts or algorithms
• Use the platform in any way that could harm its availability or performance for other users
• Share your account credentials with others

8. Subscriptions & Payment

Certain features of Pilot IQ require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

9. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all flight data and content you upload to Pilot IQ. By using our platform, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and analyze your data solely to provide our services to you.

The Pilot IQ platform, including its design, code, AI models, and branding, is our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pilot IQ and its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to:

• Decisions made based on AI-generated analysis or readiness scores
• Inaccuracies in automated flight data processing or approach analysis
• Loss of data or service interruptions
• Actions taken by instructors, schools, or other users on the platform

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Pilot IQ is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pilot IQ from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or regulation.

12. Service Availability

We strive to keep Pilot IQ available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime.

13. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@getpilotiq.ai. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately, though we will retain your data for 30 days in case you wish to reactivate.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Pilot IQ shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
