How your training assistant works

No black box. Here's exactly what Pilot IQ analyzes, what it does with it, and where a human stays in charge. Yes, the assistant is AI, doing real analysis on your real flight data, not generating fluff.

What it reads

  • Your flight tracks. GPS data from ForeFlight, GPX, or G1000 files, emailed or uploaded.
  • Your logbook. Hours, takeoffs, landings, approaches, day and night time.
  • Your ACS ratings. Your own self assessment and your CFI’s, task by task.
  • Your instructor’s debriefs. The notes attached to each flight.
  • Your training pattern over time. How often you fly and whether your scores are actually moving.

What it does with it

  • Matches each flight to the ACS. Identifies the ACS tasks you actually flew and prompts you to update where you stand.
  • Writes a postflight debrief. An ACS aligned summary of the session, including how your instrument approaches went.
  • Tracks currency and hours. Currency against FAR 61.57, and your hours against the Part 61 minimums for each rating.
  • Builds your readiness signal. A readiness percentage per area, surfacing your 3 weakest areas to focus on.
  • Watches your Training Health. Flags plateaus, burnout, walls, and stall outs, so you get the most from every hour.

Where a human stays in charge

  • Readiness is a signal, not a prediction. We never tell you that you will pass or fail.
  • Your CFI’s assessment is authoritative. Their rating is the one that counts for any endorsement or signoff.
  • It complements your instructor. Pilot IQ supports human instruction and never replaces it.

Why we built it this way

We think the honest move is to show you the engine. The assistant does real analysis on your real flight data, and you and your CFI stay in command of every decision.
